Northwest Point ATV tour, Turks and Caicos
A guided ATV tour from Grants Wheeland Gas Station to Northwest Point, the wild northwest tip of Providenciales. You drive a brand-new quad, and your guide leads the way. The tour takes two hours, and it is private to your group.
What you’ll see at Northwest Point
Past Wheeland the road goes quiet, the pavement runs out, and a sand track takes you through the coastal scrub to the very tip of the island. You park where the track meets the coast and walk the rest of the way over rough limestone to the ruin of an old light tower, with an osprey nest on top. At low tide there are tide pools at your feet, the reef runs close to shore, and the white beach beyond usually has nobody on it.

This tour suits people who want to get away from the resorts and see a wild, empty side of the island. If you like rugged coastline, quiet beaches and a bit of sand under your wheels, it is made for you. It works just as well for one rider as for a group of friends with a quad each.

The corner of Millennium Highway and Tom Lightbourne Drive. Look for the small gas station. Your guide is there with the quads and the helmets. The ride ends back at the gas station it started from.

Operators
Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license. One rider per quad, no passengers.
Cancellation and weather
- Free cancellation. Cancel or move your booking up to 24 hours before your start time, for any reason, at no charge.
- Weather. If it isn’t safe to go out, we don’t go out. If we call it off for weather, you have the option to rebook within 30 days or receive a full refund.

How do you get to Northwest Point?
Millennium Highway runs out past Wheeland until the pavement ends and the road turns to dirt. About a mile of track then reaches the coast, and the last half mile or so to the point is soft sand, where most cars, rental 4x4s included, get stuck. The quads stop where the track meets the coast, and you walk the rest.
Is Northwest Point a national park?
The water is. North West Point Marine National Park, set aside in 1992, covers the sea and the shore below the high-water mark from Wheeland Cut to Wiley Point, and the mangrove ponds behind the coast are a separate nature reserve. The quads stay on the trail, off the beach and out of the pond reserve, and nothing leaves with you: taking shells, sand, rock or coral is against the regulations.
Which of the two quad tours should I book?
Both Caicos Rentals quad tours run two hours at $260 per ATV, from the same meeting point at Grants Wheeland Gas Station in Providenciales. This one is the wild-coast ride: a dead-end road, a sand track, and the tip of the island on foot. Split Rock and Pirate’s Cave is the history ride, with a cave you walk into.
Can two of us share one quad?
No. Each quad carries one rider, 18 or older with a valid driver’s license, and your group can take up to 10 quads out together. The ATV tours are the one ride we run with no passengers; children ride on a Jet Ski or in the Jet Car instead.
Can we swim at the point?
No. There is no swim stop on this ride. The currents on that side of the island are strong, so the point and the beach are a walk-and-look stop.
Do I need off-road experience?
No. The ride opens with a briefing and a practice loop, and your guide sets the pace on the sand track.
